Personal Photography and writing/rant.

From my early years as a photographer in my late teens, I have admired both the classic documentary and landscape genres, and have worked in these styles over the last thirty years when the opportunities arose, not for money, but just for the delight of taking and making photographs.

I loved the traditional silverprint process. Darkroom hours were seldom wasted. There are few things more satisfying that a photographer can do (whilst standing up) than to produce a beautiful print with subtle highlights and penetrating shadow detail. Digital comes close but at the moment can't compete with a well produced archival, fibre base, selinium, split-toned silverprint!

My limited edition prints of the Cot valley set have been exhibited and some were sold. Respecting the limited edition I have not reproduced these using the archival digital process. The remaining edition prints are for sale at a price that reflects their beauty and rarity. The two images I have included give an idea of the set which explores the Shakti energy in the landscape using a female form paired with the natural rockforms on the beach. I intend to continue this concept in a variety of other natural landscapes using a model who's body type echos and illustrates Shakti in her different manifestations. This time I will use digital means when the time and opportunity presents itself.  Unless, of course,  I magic up a high quality traditional darkroom. What bliss!
